MELISSA GARCIA-SCHOLARSHIP WINNER My name is Melissa Garcia and I am 18 years old. I was born in England and I was raised as an Air Force brat. I was attending the University of the Incarnate Word; however, I recently came to the conclusion that school is not what I want to do with my life right now. As a military brat I moved from place to place. Some may not find this appealing, but I live for change. I have been in San Antonio for six years and I am now hungry to travel. I have made the decision to go back to my roots and become a member of the United States Air Force. Receiving the ChicaGirl scholarship made my decision so much harder. I would like to give the greatest of thanks to ChicaGirl Magazine for the ChicaGirl scholarship. I was extremely excited when I learned that I had been one of the winners of the scholarships. I would also personally like to thank Toni Jimenez for showing her interest in my decision to join the United States Air Force and I would like to say thank you again for continuing to include me in ChicaGirl Magazine. |
