EMBARRASSING MOMENTS Over the summer I went through a major growth spurt. I was completely bummed out because I was being forced to attend a family reunion. I quickly threw on an ivory summer dress and ran out the door. As I greeted all my relatives, my aunt hugged me tightly and commented on my “perky breasts”. “I was hoping they would pop up soon she exclaimed!” Then she proceeded to feel them! I was mortified. To top things off I had started my period and bled through my ivory dress. My aunt was the one to help me clean the stain. “You’re blossoming into such a woman she exclaimed (with my father in earshot).” I wanted to crawl into a hole and die. I had the hugest crush on this guy at my school. I knew he had an after school job working at the local vet hospital so, I tried to take my dog in whenever possible. I even faked a rash on my dog with lipstick just to see him. I was finally going get up the nerve to talk to him so I decided to take my dog in for grooming. We struck up a conversation and things were going extremely well. He asked if I had plans for next weekend. I was in heaven and felt warm and tingly all over. Then I snapped and looked down at the floor only to notice that the warm sensation was my dog peeing excessively on our feet! My crush was disgusted. Needless to say we never talked again and I switched vet clinics. I had woken up late for school one morning and was in a rush to make to my final exam in time. I scurried around to find clean clothes to wear and discovered that I had no clean underwear! As a last result, I slipped on my bikini bottoms. I finished my exam and rushed home. As luck would have it, I got into a car accident and went to the hospital just to make sure I had no broken bones. The doctor asked me to undress for the scan and burst into laughter when he saw my tropical flowered bikini bottoms. I was so embarrassed. I was at my boyfriend’s house for a relaxing movie night. Even though we weren’t going out, I still made it a point to look super cute for him. I took off my sandals and stretched out on the couch. I noticed my boyfriend kept sniffing the air and couldn’t figure out why. It wasn’t until he took one big whiff next to my feet that I noticed they stunk! They were so smelly and sweaty from running around all day. He didn’t want to touch or hug me all night. I felt like a leper! I was working as a teacher’s aid for a seventh grade class. One morning I was in such a hurry as I rushed out the door, I noticed I forgot to shave my legs! Plus, I was wearing a pencil skirt! My legs were extremely hairy because I was so used to always wearing pants that covered up my hairy legs. I wore pants much of the time. I blew it off and hoped no one would notice. The day breezed by with no problems until second period. One little boy kept acting up and wouldn’t pay attention to the class lecture. I had to get up from behind my desk and scold him. As I was talking to him I felt him gaze downward and knew his attention was now on my hairy legs. As I walked away I heard him tell all his friends and giggle. During my break I ran home to shave only to come back to ridicule and the kids calling me the ‘hairy monster” behind my back. I had decided to study abroad for the summer. The long distance was a real strain on me and my boyfriend's relationship. I missed him so much but couldn’t call him as often because of the cost. I finally had the chance to call him up. “Hello my sweet sugar muffin! I miss you so much!” I exclaimed. There was a long silence – “*Marisa, this is Mr. Rodriguez. Michael is not here. He is out running errands.” I turned bright red. Now whenever I see his dad he calls me “Sugar Muffin.” |
