The 2009 Cutting Edge Fiesta® Fashion Show The University of the Incarnate Word held the 2009 Cutting Edge Fiesta Fashion Show, an official Fiesta event on Monday, April 20th in San Antonio. ChicaGirl Brittany was backstage to ask the UIW student designers what advice they would like to share with ChicaGirls. Here is what they said: Rachel Ross: “Do many things outside of school. Be creative. Compete in different competitions.” Allison Andrews: **2009 OVERALL WINNER-CONGRATULATIONS ALLISON! ** “I love fashion! If that's your passion...pursue it!” Denise Garza: “It's NEVER too late to pursue your fashion dreams.” N.Celeste Hill: “Start sewing, painting and sketching. Incorporate expression.” Griselda Estela Aguirre: “Don't be afraid of pursuing your style. Do your own thing and carry it with confidence.” Grace Manley: “Don't listen to anyone who tells you that you can't do it.” Winona Johnson: “There's always someone telling you that you can't do it. Don’t stop trying.” Helen Patton: “If it's what you really want to do, stick with it.” Jason Avery: “It takes a lot of discipline and focus...stay determined.” CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE UIW STUDENT DESIGNERS!
